What is your mission?
I Want Her Job ® is a community built to inspire by sharing thoughtful, relevant information highlighting both our members and the issues that concern them. Our mission is to encourage the individual growth of career-minded women by fostering a love of learning, curiosity and a desire to help others.
How do I become a Leading Lady?
Head on over to our Participate page and tell us why you or another fabulous woman in your life should be featured on the site. We receive a high volume of requests, so we'll reach out to you if you're selected for an interview.

Do you ever interview guys?
Occasionally we do, but like choosing a boyfriend, we’re very selective. If you’re a guy interested in talking to us, please use the contact form on the Participate page.
How did you start IWHJ?
Just three short years ago, our founder Brianne B. Perleberg started thinking about how great it would be if there was a site that asked the very questions she was asking; a site that served as a resource for making introductions, connections and helping others figure out if a certain job would be the right fit. You try shoes on, so why wouldn’t you “try on” a job before applying? She combined a column she had called "I Want Her Job" on her now-defunct fashion blog with the idea of digitizing informational interviews and I Want Her Job was born.
Is running the website your full-time job?
We hope that one day, it is. In the meantime, we're all making it happen in our day jobs, in addition to the site. We work on IWHJ in the evenings, on weekends and during vacations. (Total truth.)
What’s your take on sponsored content?
Many members of the team are in marketing, so we are always open to partnering with advertisers and sponsors. That said, all writing on the site is completely original, written by and owned by I Want Her Job ® / Burrowes Media LLC. We will, from time to time, offer sponsored content and that content will be labeled as such.
Why haven’t I received an answer to my email yet?
We receive oodles of IWHJ-related emails a week, in addition to our day job inboxes. We do our best to respond to everyone, but please don’t take a lapse in response personally and bear with us if it takes a while to get back to you.
Which interview is your favorite?
There are so many interviews on the site that have touched our community and our team. Every time we hit “post” on a piece of content, it’s another win for women and means to connect us.

What's one thing I don’t know about IWHJ but probably should?
Our team represents the best of all parts of the United States. We have staff volunteers in California, Arizona, Montana, Oregon, Idaho, Georgia and Florida. We pride ourselves on having real, working women perspectives from every region of the country.
What’s next for IWHJ?
