Q: How do you approach executives without looking insubordinate to your immediate manager? My boss takes credit for work other people on the team do, or doesn’t pass along our ideas.
My boss is one of the biggest gossips in the office. When we meet, he tries to bring me into it, telling me what the newest gossip is, what his theories are on other people in the office, etc.
Lately, I’ve had a colleague jump in and respond to emails from other colleagues, even though they’re addressed to me and he’s been cc’d on them as a courtesy. It’s starting to get on my nerves.
Do you have suggestions for setting up relationships with your clients where they respect your working hours? I understand the occasional genuine emergency, but expectations for replies on nights?
